App for AI-powered retrieval of key business data
My contribution: I designed the UX and UI while working with the data science team to ensure the experience complimented their machine learning models and data visualization best practices.
For this project we essentially created Siri or Alexa for a company’s unique data, in a text message based interface.
The company commissioning had a very slow sales data briefing process. It would take weeks to get sales reports even once the data for a time range was available. They needed a solution that was mobile and fast.
With our solution, users could speak or text any question about their company data and receive an answer from the virtual assistant with a corresponding visualization. We created an NLU and NLP based conversational interface that plugged into their database and quickly pulled up company info.
The texting and speech interface was chosen for its speed and ease of use for tech savvy mid-level managers, but some of our users were executives with less knowledge of virtual assistants.
To cater to these users as well, we included a more conventional, hands-on method to manually find the data users were looking for.
We called this the quick access form. Through this form, users could manually look for data from certain time ranges and categories and receive the same data visualizations in response.
