Ready for design and adventure.

Chris Westgate

I received my BFA in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2011, and got my 1st job animating on the Emmy award-winning show, Archer on FX. I worked there for 3 years but found myself always looking for more interesting problems to work on.

Travel and learning languages became a big fascination for me, which lead to me leaving the animation world in 2014 to cofound a social site for language learners.

As the principle designer and lead of product design, this was my first taste of user experience and a total trial by fire. There were a lot of fumbles and learning moments along the way, but one thing was totally certain. From that moment on, I was hooked on product design.

I’ve been designing products for 8 years now with a variety of projects shipped; from mobile to web and from social apps to business analytics and life coaching platforms.

As a UX designer, I focus on the user. Any experience we create should directly translate to value for our users. This requires a designer to be hands-on and proactive— listening carefully to users and to the data to find what problems need solving. From there, iteration is key. Constantly updating, building upon, and testing our assumptions is critical.

As a team leader and manager, I foster creative problem solving and a healthy working environment among my colleagues. My teams strive for the highest level of aesthetic execution and research-backed solutions, while delivering on time and within scope. We also though, make time for living and calling out our collective and individual achievements.

I’m interested in solving problems that make the world a better place: Social welfare, improved well-being, addressing the climate crisis. If you are doing work that matters, let’s talk!
